Course Description

This course covers the principles and techniques of responding to and managing cybersecurity incidents, including topics such as incident response planning, forensic analysis, and communication during an incident. Students will learn how to identify and assess the severity of an incident, and how to implement appropriate response and recovery procedures.



Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of Introduction to Information Security, students will be able to:
  1. Demonstrate an understanding of the principles of incident response and disaster recovery planning.
  2. Explain how to develop and implement an incident response plan, including the identification of key stakeholders and the creation of procedures for responding to different types of incidents.
  3. Demonstrate an understanding of the role of incident response in maintaining business continuity and minimizing the impact of disruptions.
  4. Explore the use of various tools and techniques for managing incidents, including the use of forensic analysis and recovery tools.
  5. Conduct post-incident reviews and use the lessons learned to improve the organization's incident response and disaster recovery capabilities.
