Course Description

This course focuses on securing software applications across the development lifecycle. Topics include secure coding principles, web application vulnerabilities, secure APIs, and DevSecOps practices. Students analyze real-world application attacks and defenses.



Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of Introduction to Information Security, students will be able to:
  1. Demonstrate an understanding of the security threats and vulnerabilities specific to mobile devices, including both hardware and software issues.
  2. Explain how to design and implement secure mobile apps, including considerations for data storage, network communication, and user authentication.
  3. Explore various mobile device management (MDM) and mobile application management (MAM) solutions and their role in securing corporate and personal devices.
  4. Demonstrate an understanding of mobile device forensics and how to use it to investigate security incidents involving mobile devices.
  5. Discuss the legal and ethical considerations surrounding mobile device security, including data privacy laws and guidelines for responsible disclosure of security vulnerabilities.
